Celebrating Children’s Day Through Technology, Creativity, and Fun
When children are given the opportunity to explore, create, and think differently, amazing things happen.
On May 29, 2026, we celebrated Children’s Day through our annual Tech & Fun Boot Camp, a special initiative designed to introduce young learners to the exciting world of technology while encouraging creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and fun.
The event brought together pupils from Holbrook Schools, Vintage Plus Montessori School, and Wuraville College for a day of hands-on learning and engaging activities. From the moment the sessions began, the atmosphere was filled with curiosity, excitement, and a willingness to learn.
Throughout the boot camp, participants were introduced to a variety of digital and analytical skills. They explored graphic design using Canva, learned the basics of animation and digital creativity, and gained an introduction to data analysis using Microsoft Excel. Through pattern-recognition exercises, interactive puzzles, and problem-solving activities, the children were encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and approach challenges with confidence.
One of the highlights of the day was a special session facilitated by Elijah Moses, who introduced the pupils to the world of data. Through practical examples and engaging activities, he demonstrated how data helps us recognize patterns, solve problems, and make informed decisions in our everyday lives.
The session transformed what could have been a complex topic into an enjoyable learning experience, allowing the children to actively participate while developing a deeper appreciation for the role of data in today’s world.
Learning was balanced with fun throughout the day. In addition to the educational sessions, the children enjoyed movie time and recreational activities that allowed them to relax, connect with one another, and reflect on what they had learned. The combination of technology, creativity, and entertainment created a memorable experience for everyone involved.
At the heart of the Tech & Fun Boot Camp is a simple vision: to expose children to opportunities that inspire innovation, build confidence, and prepare them for a future shaped by technology. Every session, activity, and interaction is designed to help young learners discover new possibilities and realize their potential.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our CEO, Adedayo Okunfolami; our organizer, Modesta Uzo; our tutors, Ruth Oyewusi and Davidson Success; and our dedicated volunteers, Bolu Lawal and Kiri Caleb, whose commitment and support contributed immensely to the success of this year’s event.
We also thank our partner schools, parents, and supporters for believing in this vision and helping us create meaningful learning opportunities for children.
As we look ahead, we remain committed to creating more opportunities for young people to engage with technology, develop valuable skills, and discover pathways that can shape their futures.
“If a single day of exposure to technology can spark curiosity, confidence, and creativity in a child, imagine what consistent opportunities could achieve. How many more young minds can we inspire together?”
