Kreateng Africa’s Bootcamp 15.0: Future of Technology
On May 24th, 2024, Kreateng Africa proudly hosted Bootcamp 15.0, welcoming 150 enthusiastic children eager to dive into the world of technology. The goal of this event was to introduce these young minds to tech and celebrate them as the future of our society. The participants arrived with eagerness and excitement, ready to embark on a journey of learning and creativity. The event expertly balanced education and fun, featuring simultaneous sessions on coding, graphics, design, workshops, and even a movie screening.
The main event began with a warm welcome from our hosts, setting the stage for an exhilarating day. The children were divided into age groups, ensuring each participant could fully engage in every activity.
Hands-On Learning: Coding and Design
In the coding sessions, children learned basic programming using VS Code and Chrome Browser. They created simple web pages to host their information and live pictures taken during the class, experiencing the thrill of seeing their images live on the web. Concurrently, in the graphics and design sessions, the kids explored digital art tools like Canva and Tinkercad. They delved into color theory, composition, and design, expressing their creativity through unique and imaginative projects. These sessions were both fun and interactive, sparking great enthusiasm among the participants.
Inspiring Imagination: Movie Time
The movie session featured ‘Iwaju,’ a technologically rich and advanced animated series that showcases futuristic Lagos, Nigeria. The story follows Tola, a young girl from the wealthy island, and her best friend, Kole, a self-taught tech expert, as they uncover the secrets and perils concealed in their contrasting worlds. This session ignited the children’s imaginations and encouraged them to contemplate the future of technology.
Expert Insights: AI & ML Workshop
A workshop session on AI & ML and its real-life applications was conducted by four esteemed guest speakers: Olamide Afolabi (CEO of Touch and Pay – Cowry), Adeyinka Okunfolami (Managing Director of Awacash MFB), Tomiwo Fakinlede (CTO of SeedFi), and Gbenga Johnson (CGO of Kreateng Africa), along with Adedayo Okunfolami (CEO, Kreateng). The children gained valuable insights into how AI and ML are shaping the future and their potential applications in everyday life.
Fun and Games: Recharging with Play
Throughout the day, breaks were filled with laughter and games, allowing the children to recharge and socialize. These moments of fun ensured that the learning process remained enjoyable and balanced. Outdoor games, a bouncing castle, and snake & ladder activities further engaged the children, blending physical activity with teamwork and creativity.

Participating schools included Holbrook Schools, Vintage Plus Montessori School, Cansot Schools, Beverly Joy School, Wuraville College, and Edgewood College.
